Goodbye Retrograde 🪐 👋

Today, we’re serving you a cozy fall-themed newsletter. While autumn has many magical opportunities and activities your family can and should take part in, it’s also good to remember to slow down and take things one at a time.

Thankfully, the planets and this newsletter are on your side.

We understand that this season can go from 0-100 with the school year beginning, new activities to choose from, and let’s not even talk about the most recent Mercury retrograde that we’ve been pushing through.

Instead of stressing out about all the things your family needs to do in the next few months, take some time to slow down, plan out fun activities, and possibly make some delicious soup.

So settle in, because this newsletter is going to bring optimal cozy vibes to your inbox.

How to Motherhood - The Key to Balancing Your Kid’s Activities While Maintaining Your Sanity ⚽ 🩰♟️ 🎭

As everyone’s getting back into the swing of the new school year and all the opportunities that come with it, you might notice your family’s calendar is becoming more inundated with all the extracurricular activities that you’ve scheduled for your kids.

Whether your schedule is packed with soccer practices, dance lessons, piano recitals, or whatever interests your kids, extracurriculars often appear tempting, but end up putting more on your plate than you expected.

Alvin Rosenfeld, author of The Over-Scheduled Child tells The Every Mom, “Enrichment programs are great, as they add a lot to kids’ lives.” Then he warns, “The problem is, we’ve lost the ability to balance them with downtime, boring time… make sure children have enough time with no activities, parents have enough time with no work, and the two sides come together to create activities of their own.”

While many parents want to take advantage of all the extracurricular activities their kids are drawn to, downtime and balance are just as important to a child’s life. This school year, don’t fill your kids’ schedules with clubs, activities, and extracurriculars. Instead, start being at peace with life’s mundane and boring moments. If we’ve learned anything, those are the moments that mean the most.
