🍋 Lemon Celeb : Megan Fox Shares Her Miscarriage Story in Her New Poetry Book
Megan Fox bares her soul and shares her heartbreaking journey with miscarriage in her new poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.
Tragically, Fox’s experience is not unique. One in four women experience early miscarriages, while 1-2% of pregnancies end in a late miscarriage. These statistics mean that 10-15% of all pregnancies are terminated by miscarriage.
Although this terrible loss is common, mothers and parents who suffer from miscarriages often battle feelings of shame and failure, no matter how natural and often this terrible loss occurs.
Many experts blame these negative feelings on the silence and guilt that surrounds the topic. The World Health Organization encourages mothers and those who have experienced a miscarriage to share their stories and support.
Fox’s book of poems accomplishes this goal. She says, “I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins.”
The poems showcase topics of grief, abuse, addiction, and more. She tells PEOPLE about the difficulties she and Machine Gun Kelly faced, both together and separately.
Fox discusses her miscarriage in two poems. In one, she notably writes, “I want to hold your hand / hear your laugh,” and “but not / I have to say / goodbye.” Her poems range from graphic to tragic.

🍋 Lemon DIY: This DIY Gratitude Tree Shows How Beautiful it is to Give Thanks 💝
✂️ Materials:
Vase or pitches
Sticks with several branches
👉 Directions:
Place the sticks in the vase and make the hanging decorations.

✂️ Materials
Eos Lip Balm
Crepe paper in gold and brown
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Twine
Cardstock in pink, orange, yellow, and cream
👉 Directions
Cut a piece of gold crepe paper 3x4”. Stretch the paper to remove any ridges and increase the width.
Wrap the crepe paper around the eos lip blam -- round side down. Overlap the edges of the crepe just slightly and secure it with hot glue. Make sure there’s 1 inch of crepe paper on top and ½-inch on the bottom.
Pinch the bottom of the paper to a point and secure it with a glue dot. Twist the top paper to create a small stem. Secure with a glue dot.
Cut ½-inch strips of brown crepe paper perpendicular to the grain. Stretch it out to remove the ridges. Fringe the outstretches strips by 1 cm wide slits into the strip.
Wrap the fringe around the upper third of the eos, securing it with glue as you go. Continue to layer and curl the fringe.
Tie or glue a piece of twine to the stem of the acorn.
Cut out the leaves in different shades of cardstock, then punch a hole at the top of the leaf. Thread a piece of twine through the hole and tie a knot.
Spend time writing what you’re thankful for on the leaves!
These 10 Questions Will Inspire the Love of Reading in Your Little Ones 📚
Just like a teacher quizzes their students when they’ve read a book, if you ask your toddler questions about their book, you’ll teach them critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.
We’re not telling you to turn your home into a classroom, but if you want to inspire a relationship with literature, consider asking your kiddo these questions:
What do you think happens next in the story?
Does this story remind you of anything in your life?
Do you like this character? Do you think you would be friends with them?
Would anyone in our family like this book?
How do you think this character feels right now?
Do you know what this word means?
What’s happening in this picture?
Can you remember when you had the same feelings as this character?
Why do you think they made that decision?
How would you describe this setting?

Ingredients:
2 refrigerated pie crusts
3 baking apples
2 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp brown sugar
3 Tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¾ cup water
Topping:
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel and dice the apples, then toss them with lemon juice.
Whisk the cornstarch, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water in a pan until combined. Bring the ingredients to a boil and continue whisking for two minutes while folding the apples in. Once the apples are coated, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Take the apples off the heat and let them cool completely.
Unroll both the pie crusts and spread the apple filling on top of the crusts.
Slice the second pie crust into thin strips and weave them over the filling, creating a lattice.
Cover the cookie sheet with parchment paper and cut out cookies using a cookie cutter or mason jar lid. Place the cookies on the parchment.
Brush the tops of the cookies with the beaten egg and sprinkle them with sugar cinnamon.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the lattice is golden brown. Enjoy!
